This event is the grand opening ceremony of Cats Downstairs Rope Salon. Our organization was founded in 2018 and has always been a space dedicated to practicing Shibari. The salon has gone through changes since 2021, moving from Ximen to Wanhua. This year, after a lot of planning, development, and preparation, Cats Downstairs is moving to a new studio near the MRT-Yuanshan Station to create a multicultural, gender-friendly, and feminine-centered rope studio. The new studio will be decorated in a simple and cozy style, with many suspension points. Besides the large indoor space, Catdownstairs is also equipped with a spacious rooftop where you can feel the breeze or play with cats living nearby. The Grand Opening Ceremony will have 2 parts, the [Afternoon —Site Tour] and the [Night—Performance / Rope Jam] session.
You are currently signing up for the [Night—Performance / Rope Jam] - sign up is all the way down the page;
the [Afternoon —Site Tour] is free of charge but you should still sign up using this link instead.

Performers of the Evening
— May Forest —
May has been tying since 2020. A shibari session with Soa profoundly moved her and inspired her to develop her own style. Since then, Shibari has become her way of touching and communicating with people. May pictures the session as an exploration of the unchartered territory together with her rope partners. In her sessions, she likes to enhance the sensory experience by applying natural herbal oil for scent. May prides herself on connecting with the hearts of her partners through rope. To May, her rope provides a unique experience that connects people's hearts. Every session is a one-of-a-kind journey.

— Feather & Rainy —
Feather started learning how to tie in 2017 under Maya. Since then, Feather has expanded her skills through rigorous practice and workshops. As an experimentalist, Feather holds a strong curiosity in expanding her horizons through experimenting with techniques and exchanging ideas with other riggers. Philosophically, Feather cherishes the unique bond between a rigger and a rope bottom. She strives to explore the possibilities ropes can offer someone in a safe and pleasurable manner. She's been invited to be a lecturer (specializing in Shibari) of the BDSM Club at the National Taiwan University and of the Sex & Gender Club at the National Taiwan Normal University.
Rainy: A pervert.
— Soa —
Soa is a professional rigger, S/M practitioner, performer, and activist promoting safer BDSM activities, with a strong focus on various gender issues. As a professional rigger, Soa has directed and performed in more than 50 Shibari shows since 2016. His extensive background in Shibari has earned him numerous invitations to host S/M-related speeches, workshops, and work as a Shibari director for visual/audio multimedia projects. Over the years, Soa has developed his own system/style of Shibari, and he is the director/producer/host of the "狂繩夜宴" performance series. In addition to traditional Shibari, Soa collaborates with various subcultures and serves as the keyboard player and rigger for the band Kichiku Girls.
